Definitely worth reading, all you animal lovers!
I agree with Jennifer's review, that the writing in this book is not of the best. It reminded me a bit of the way people write about the lives of the saints. That said, I imagine it was hard for the author to give ample attention to all of the heroic people who founded Best Friends and work/worked there and tie all that in with the animal experiences.
It is a touching story and made me cry several times. I am very glad I read it and learned about the sanctuary. If I had not picked a different avenue of volunteer service in life, this book might very likely have made me want to go work there.
