Life With Marilyn Author:Vincent, T. Ciano This is a true story of the years I have known Marilyn, how and where we met, how we were so devoted to each other and, how there is such a thing as true love. She caught my eye when I was strolling along the boardwalk at Orchard Beach with a buddy of mine Will LaRusso, we were both home on leave and decided to go to the beach for an hour or tw... more »o after Will visited his old place of employment on City Island. I was in the Army and he in the Navy. The beach was located in the Pelham Bay Park section not to far from the Island, this was in NY City NY. I stopped to get a better look at this girl sitting and reading a book, she had no idea that I was giving her the once over. I said to Will I sure would like to meet her, pointing at her. Well walk on down and introduce yourself he replied, the worst thing that could happen is she may throw the book at you just be a little prepared thats all. Thanks Will! I gathered up enough nerve to walk out to her thinking hey, she might just do that, watch it. As I approached her she looked up and I could see she had beautiful green eyes, her hair was a very light color brown almost like maybe a sort of strawberry blond as she got older it turned to a dark brown. Her complexion was perfect, even in her later years you wouldn't see a wrinkle or a blemish. People would compliment her and ask her what kind of creams and make up was she using, fact was other than lipstick she hardly used any, a little cream at bed time but that was about all. unless, we had a special affair to attend. then she would put a little on. Man she was pretty. I said hello, you alone today? After putting the book down ( she didn't throw the book at me ! ) we started to chat a bit, I found her to be a very friendly person. We gabbed for a while and I then asked would she care to go to a movie or something so I could get to know her a little but explained that I didn't have to much time, I had to leave that evening to go back to camp in Temple Texas. She said ok but wanted to go home first and could I pick her up there, can you do that considering time is short? "I sure can" I did pick her up but every thing was a sort of rush rush because of the time element, but I was happy to have spent just a few hours with her before going back.We corresponded after I got back, until I was medically discharged from the US Army, We started dating as soon as I came home soon after getting myself settled in. This is the beginning of my story of Life With Marilyn.« less
