The Reef is part sea thriller, part exquisite and intelligent love story, and all Nora. Noraholics, be on the alert: This is a keeper, and one that your non-romance reading friends will love as well. If you miss The Reef, you will have missed one of the best suspense adventure stories of the year -- and a love story that will take your breath away!

Over the years they've had many famous finds, but one treasure has eluded them, Angelique's Curse, an amulet filled with jewels and heavy with history. They can't do it alone, so Tate's father hires Matthew Lassiter, a sea-scarred diver whose past is shrouded in mystery. Tate and Matthew are reluctant partners, until danger and desire begin to rise to the surface.

The Beaumonts and the Lassiters pool their resources to locate "Angelique's Curse, an amulet precious and dark with legend. Tate Beaumont and Michael Lassiter have to set their feelings aside and work together...not an easy thing to do. Danger and Desire abound in this story.

College student Tate Beaumont is spending the summer with her parents hunting for sunken treasure. They meet salvagers Buck and Matthew Lassiter, and realize they too are searching for the famous jeweled amulet "Angelique's Curse" which went down with a ship. Deciding to become partners and share any treasure they find, the group stumbles onto an old Spanish Galleon with a fortune in gold. As Tate and Matthew grow closer, an evil man from the past may just drive them apart.

This was an interesting romantic suspense story. Even though I know nothing about diving for sunken treasure, I found this story hard to put down. All of the characters are well drawn, even the minor characters. As usual, Nora Roberts has written another winner. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

This is now definitely one of my favorite books. I've read nora roberts before but never like this. This book has lovable characters and a bad guy that makes you cringe and really makes you hate him. The adventure is wonderful and the story is even better.

This book is my ultimate favorite Nora Roberts book. The villian is just nasty enough to dislike, the herion feisty and strong-willed and the hero has just the right balance of sexy and mysterious to make him appealing. I love the backdrop of hunting for sunken treasure, the pleasure in the surroundings as well as the excitement of the hunt. This book was written before Nora Roberts trilogies starting making up the bulk of her writing. I absolutely love her earlier work the best, however I will continue to read whatever she has published. This book is a recommend for those of you who are true Nora fans and for those of you just finding Nora's books.

New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts returns to a familiar subject-treasure, the kind of treasure found among the shipwrecks in the balmy waters of the West Indies and the treasure of love--love of family, love between the unlikeliest of partners, love found and lost and found again. Marine archeologist Tate Beaumont finds herself thrown together with salvager Matthew Lassiter, eight years after he brutally crushed her first stirrings of young love, as they again attempt to locate Angelique's Curse, an amulet heavy with jewels and history, tainted by blood and madness. An earlier expedition ended in betrayal and tragedy, changing both their lives forever and leaving their families inextricably entwined. Matthew has an agenda of his own: to draw out Tate's former employer, the unscrupulous and mysterious millionaire responsible for killing his father and maiming his uncle--who will stop at nothing to get his hands on Angelique's Curse. Tate and Matthew find themselves circling each other warily, each unsure of the other's motives, yet drawn together by passion and danger beneath the azure waves. The Reef is an entertaining read, delighting readers with its meticulous research and detail, but it fails to adequately develop the tension between its lead characters caused by the love neither trusts can overcome the past.

Who doesn't like a story about a treasure hunt? Especially one entwined with a cursed necklace, one man obsessive search for the necklace, and another man's obsession with revenge for the murder of his father? Toss in some interesting secondary characters (I especially like Tate's mother) and a juicy romance.

A very enjoyable read.

Great sequel to Relic ... extends the story with the characters 18 months later. Just as good, exciting, strange and informative (about Manhattans underground) as the Relic. BUT, read the Relic first, then this one.
