Richard Wolffe kept as close as he could to the Obama team as Obama began his run for the Presidency. In this book he provides a real up-close-and-personal look at the candidate throughout the grueling two years of primary and general election battles. Wolffe provides enough filler information on Obama's family story to give context to the report. He finds Obama to be more moody than has generally been reported, but as steady as the rock he has earned a reputation for. Wolffe's writing is reporter-ish, and not as smooth or dynamic as one might expect. But for a look at this historic race, and the man who is now President, it provides a fine front row seat.
