Sadly there were no wishes for this well designed book in which we see a family traveling from their village to Habana in their '54 Chevy. There is limited text but authentic color drawings.
We learn the work arounds done to keep the Cuban vehicles going, given the lack of parts (during the rule of Fidel and Raul). Likewise, this kind of ingenuity was employed by many American motorists before 1946 and a bit later by Mexican motorists.
The author and the illustrator explain in a brief appendix how they created this book.
