I was really looking forward to reading this because it was different from all the other crummy vampire books and movies that were popular at the time. Unfortunately, I really couldn't get into this book at all. Maybe it was because I saw the movie first (I didn't even know there was a book until I saw the movie) but I felt the story just dragged in parts. Maybe if it had been about 100 pages shorter I would have felt differently but everything in the book that was left out of the movie just seemed pointless and didn't add anything to the story at all.
