This was a beautiful and rich saga. It spans many years of a womans life and tells about love, heartache, loss, and even royal politics. I would describe this as a tapestry of emotion and wonderful storytelling. It tells about Kristin's relationsips..her mother, father, sons -- the man who was supposed to be her husband..the man she chose to be her husband..and the man who was the only one who took care of her as a husband should -- without her even realizing it. It was so hard to put down...that's saying somthing, considering this is over 1100 pages long. I could only imagine how beautiful it was in its original language.
