If you are looking for a glowing story of the wonderful, caring persona of Albert Einstein, this book is not for you. As is the way with most geniuses, Einstein was dedicated to his work, first and foremost. This is the fictionalized story of the early years of Einstein's college career and his meeting and marriage to Mileva Maric, a brilliant Serbian woman. They met while studying at the Polytechnic University in Zurich, Switzerland.

To me, this is a tragic story about a brilliant student who subsumes her future with that of the man she falls in love with -- Albert Einstein. He charms her and tells her that they will be a pair of scientists who will take the world by storm together. However, at the first opportunity, he drops her name from their joint research. It seems as if there was only room for one genius in the Einstein household.

I agree with the author; the story of Mileva Maric needs to be told. Many, many women have done the same thing that Mileva did; give up her dreams to help her husband achieve his dreams and ambitions.
