Rachel Anderson is a former agent who now works as a PI. She is hired by a prominent senator to investigate the death of his daughter, and the possible existence of a grandchild. As she prepares to go undercover at the religious college the deceased girl attended, she is approached by the CIA who are interested in the college for other reasons.
Rachel enrolls as a student at Shepard's Cross Ministry, and her CIA contact poses as a computer skills professor. Much to Rachel's dismay (and later delight), her CIA partner also happens to be a former very hot flame.
I don't want to give too much away, so suffice it to say that Rachel and her CIA hottie uncover an "8 mm" type conspiracy without Nicholas Cage.
Despite the over the top premise, I could not help but enjoy this book. As I read it I kept thinking "this is silly!" but the pacing was right on and I kept turning the pages to find out what outrageous thing would happen next. This book reminds me of Iris Johansen but with more sex - a thoroughly enjoyable escapist read.
