This is a fun book to read. The hero is such an honest and forthright man that he was easy for me to love. His sense of humor is extremely appealing, though not always appreciated. His kindness and thoughtfulness come easy, and he is so genuine. He does, however, have some secrets, so hes quite a mystery to Jo, the heroine. Due to Josephines circumstances, she has insecurities, when it comes to personal relationships with men. She isnt really sure what to make of Tom, his refined manners, and his mysterious background.

If you are looking for a historical, Christmas read, Im sure you will enjoy The Fruitcake Challenge.
