There are quite a few characters in this story so it takes a little concentration. Frankie McBride (and her 2 sisters all have "male" names - Markie & Robbie). Frankie was married to a self-centered surgeon and she has finally filed for divorce. She's had four miscarriages throughout their marriage and is resigned to the fact she may never be a mother - until she meets Luke Driscoll who has a devastating history of his own. He's a Texas Ranger whose wife and six year old daughter were killed by Coyotes while Luke was undercover. I enjoyed both these characters. Luke has this straightforward way about him that makes you fall in love with him. He falls for Frankie and isn't afraid to let her know. They go parking after her sister's wedding and Frankie becomes pregnant. Luke goes undercover again for several months and she doesn't tell him about the baby because she's afraid she'll lose this one, too.
