A trio of memorable characters is at the center of this first novel. Andreas and Daniel first met in war-torn Europe, where one courageous act of a child created a debt of honor and laid the foundation for a complex adult friendship. Separated by the war, they are reunited as successful men. The third member of the trio is Andreas's beautiful wife, Alexandra. The three are bound by past and present secrets, as well as ties of friendship, love, and passion. Together they find great success, face deep tragedy, and narrowly escape being caught in a circle of past mistakes.
