A woman (Beatrice) discovers that her pregnant sister (Tess) has died. She flies to London & becomes involved in trying to prove that Tess was murdered. story is told in first person by Beatrice. Mostly well written, but story is implausible & characters never seem real. Too much emphasis on Tess' grief which goes on and on without let-up. I gave it 3 stars for the mystery but no higher because of the contrived ending which I hated. It was as if Lupton needed a way to solve the mystery & tie up the loose ends.
