Quick and to the point. Although I would recommend Provost's Make Your Words Work as it is much more detailed, entertaining, and engrained in actually improving your writing.

You do not have to be a professional writer to benefit from the nuggets of wisdom in this book. Students, business people, even the casual letter writer will all find this information valuable.
I was disappointed with how small the book is, but it does have some good advice in it. Geared primarily for writing articles rather than fiction, it still has something to offer every writer.
