One of the better additions to the "Women's Murder Club". In addition to being assigned to two cases...one involving decapitated heads and their missing bodies, the other, the murders, execution style, of notorious drug dealers, Lindsey is pregnant. It is believed that the killer of the drug lords is a rogue cop. And her old friend and now boss, Jacobi is a prime suspect..
Out of Lindsey's husband's Joe's past, (or is it the present as well) comes an old lover, claiming that they are still an item ...... Unflattering and mainly untrue and distorted stories hit the newspaper......Hope the next in the series is as good as the "11th Hour"

2 big cases stress Lindsay as she deals with her first pregnancy and Joe's increased trips away. The "girls" are all into the serial killer mystery when unearthed remains are discovered on the back porch of a well-known Hollywood star's San Francisco mansion. Acquitted years ago of his missing wife's murder, the star now resides with his new fiancé on a yacht, but refuses to sell the historic mansion in case Cecily ever reappears and comes looking for him. A search of the rear gardens leads to more gruesome discoveries and the SFPD can only suspect Harry Chandler whom they still believe got away with murder when Cecily disappeared.
While Lindsay and Rich interview potential serials, their boss, Lt Brady, insists they stay on top of another front-page case---that of the vigilante shooter who's been killing drug dealers using 22 caliber guns stolen from the police evidence locker. Brady fears a member of the force is behind this crime spree and Boxer and Conklin have to consider if someone they've worked closely with could be responsible.

Though 2 good cases are presented to solve, the unrealistic set-up of Lindsay dealing with so multiple personal issues at the same time just doesn't ring true.

I love The Women's Murder Club. Good book.

A very enjoyable, fast paced read in the Women's Murder Club series. The usual high quality Patterson work, dealing with two mysteries and three of the women's relationships. Looking forward to the 12th installment!!

"11th Hour" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro was a much more enjoyable reading experience for me than was the last installment in the Women's Murder Club series, "10th Anniversary."

Lindsay Boxer is married to Joe and is pregnant, but it doesn't slow her down or stop her from taking her usual risks. Yuki is dating Lt. Brady, but she doesn't show up a whole lot in this novel. Claire and Cindy have some major roles.

The first case that Lindsay and partner Richard Conklin are up against is the murder of Chaz Smith, who is a wealthy man gunned down at a school where his daughter is participating in a concert. The murder weapon was taken from the SFPD's evidence room, which brings up many questions about who the killer may be.

In one of the most horrifying cases Lindsay has had yet, she and Rich are called to the scene of a wealthy, aging actor's home where two heads have been dug up from the garden and placed on the patio in a display-like manner.
Police unearth five more heads, but there are no bodies there and no clues to identities.

This is a well-paced suspense novel and doesn't move at the frenzied speed of some of Patterson's other novels, but I enjoyed the gradual build up to the page-turning ending with its twists and turns.

Patterson fans of the Women's Murder Club series should enjoy this one if the rest of the series has been read.

I got kind of bored with this one about 1/3 into it, but it picked up near the end. My main complaint with this book is that being pregnant seemed to make Boxer weak, which seemed stereotypical.

Very fast paced story where Boxer and her team have to solve two front-page worthy serial murders plus deal with everyday life problems.

Definitely don't read this if you have never read any books in the series. A lot of Boxer's scenes are written in first person but her name is rarely mentioned. So if you have never read the series, you might get a little lost.

The only thing about these later books are that the characters are a little flat (think Patterson just expects you have already fallen in love with them from the previous books) so their "emotional" scenes doesn't reach very deep.

Still a page turner.

Great addition to the series. More like the old James Patterson's writing. These characters feel like old friend, you can get comfortable with the grop immediately. Keeps you guesing. The chapters are very short---typical JP.

There was awhile there when I stopped reading Patterson books because I had felt the books he co-authored were inferior to his previous published ones. However, this book is excellent
