Of all the books I've read by this man, this one has the happiest ending. Scary, huh, since it's about the Vietnam War, and what happens to this character afterward. He's an amazing author, though, puts his characters through hell, and still, at the end of the story, when they should be dead, they aren't. And what's more, they're still fighting. I recommend ANYTHING by this author. His short stories are awesome too.
