We had an ice storm so no electricity for several days/ yeah Kindle fire. I read a great ebook 'Modern Sorcery' a Jonathan Shade novel/ part paranormal part mystery by Gary Jonas. I really enjoyed his world and the book would recommend, probably sitting in most readers as I think it was either 99c or free. Great book better for me than Jim Butcher didn't like his vampire world/ or how the MC was always beat up. Liked it better than Benedict Jacka his are a little to suspense and bloody. Rate this a 4 star great writing style. |

2016 Challege is up. I'll work on icons a bit later. 2016 Paranormal Challenge Discussion 2016 Paranormal Challenge Lists |

Perfect timing; I just finished the 2015 challenge! My last challenge book was The Rest of Us Just Live Here. We read it for book club. It's technically paranormal, because there are paranormal elements, but they're not crucial to the story. If you look at it like YA fiction instead of YA paranormal, it's a pretty good book. Basically it's the story of all the non-main characters in all the YA books. I compare it to if the students at Buffy's high school wrote a book about their experiences. So the characters know there's something going on, but they're not the ones responsible for fixing it. Very neat premise and a good book. Off to go check out the 2016 challenge and create my board! |

Heads up that Blood Destiny (Blood Curse, Bk 1) by Tessa Dawn is just $0.99 on Kindle. I think Alice or another person had read/enjoyed this series so might be worth looking at. |

It is a very good series. Good twist on vampires |

Cool. Thanks Alice! I thought I remembered you enjoying the series and talking about it before. So glad this first book is on sale. Looking forward to reading it. |

Pirateship Down: Stories from the World of the Sentinels of New Orleans :: Suzanne Johnson Didn't know about this one Alice and I just put it on my WL. I don't read anthologies unless they tie-in to series I'm following and this looks right up my alley! |

This week I finished Teeth (anthology) and Surrender the Dark by LA Banks. I really liked almost all of the stories in the anthology, which is rare! And I love LA Banks' books in general. There's a few irritating habbits she has, but, overal I like the stories she built. |

Not sure how everyone feels about them, but I padded out my 2015 list by adding the short stories & novellas that have ISBNs through Goodreads and Amazon (just used Amazon links instead of PBS). They're not on PBS since there's generally no hardcopies, but feel free to add them to you lists if you'd like. I've found that a lot of them add to the series quite a bit (especially the Elemental Assassin ones). |

>>>especially the Elemental Assassin ones Oh yeah, those do add a lot to filling out the series! Thea Harrison (Elder Races) and D. B. Reynolds (Vampires in America) also include great novellas to fill out their series. |

If anyone's looking for a fun, quick holiday read, I just finished Caribou's Gift by Eve Langlais. It says it's Book 3.5 of the Kodiak Point series, but really could be read at any point. It's just $1.99 for Kindle. It's not quite as skinamaxy as her other books, a few romps, but mostly a HEA involving a single mom & a Caribou shifter. |

This week I finished the 2nd book in LA Banks' Angels series. I really wonder had she not died untimely, if this series would have continued, It felt very unfinished.

I think I am done with the challenge! 68 books. Last book is Night Shift. It was fun keeping track and adding to the categories. See you in the 2016 challegne! |

My final book of 2015 is Kitty Saves the World [Kitty Norville] by Carrie Vaughn. A great book to end the series and the year! |
