I always liked the Kara Gillian series - have fun, Erin! I've started Jeffe Kennedy's Tala series; I had read one book randomly late in the series last fall, and I've been meaning to get to the rest (since it looks like my library has all or most of them as ebooks). I just finished The Mark of the Tala (Twelve Kingdoms, Bk 1) last night (for the First in Series category) and I'm moving on to the rest, interspersed with other things.

Just finished The Rainbow Brigade by J A Pitts.  I didn't realize he had passed away, so this will be the last book in the series.  I'm sad....I have really enjoyed this series.  It ended well enough, but there was still room for the series to continue.

I finished Wild Sign (Alpha and Omega, Bk 6) by Patricia Briggs. Absolutely excellent. May be the best book in series. Lots of back history on Bran, Leah and Anna.  Very well done. Ending is awesome.  Highly recommend.

I'm working my way through a TBR pile series, Benedict Jacka's Alex Verus series, because I owe the latest one in the UVP box. I had read to bk 4 years ago, and bk 5 earlier this year, so I had six books to read (bks 6-11). I'm through the first three now and partway into bk 9!

Good Morning

I am reading The Best Thing You Can Steal by Simon R. Green. Set in London. Different type of paranormal, magical objects, Heavan and Hell. Something different to read.

Both Una and Linda C recommended Brimstone Bound by Helen Harper. I just finished it and it was excellent. Highly recommend.

I just finished Blood Claws by John P. Logsdon.  Very good, little fun and quirky. I put more of his books on my WL

I finished The One and Only Crystal Druid. She is trying to tie many of her recent series together.  Lots of characters to try to keep straight.

I was just thinking about next year, Cindy - cool! Hmm, ideas:

  • "Shifters" and not "werewolves" (I was surprised to discover how many books I read with shifters who aren't wolves)?
  • Maybe subgenres, e.g. paranormal romance, paranormal mystery, paranormal historical?
  • Books with alternate history or parallel worlds?
  • Books with covers that show more than just a badass woman, hunky guy, or couple, but symbolize or illustrate the story more broadly? - you could call that "Every Picture Tells a Story"

How about the Family connection the book has a family works together (or against one another). Lots of paranormal have that

How about next one in line you read the next book in a series. I have started so many and  have not got to book 2.

Time Travel, main character under 18, main character over 65

I love alternate history, so seconding that suggestion!

Cindy is away from home because of illness in the family, so Alice and I are going to put together some categories and post the 2022 Paranormal Challenge. Stay tuned!
