Another awesome Womens Murder Club Mystery. The short chapters make the books awesome, and so easy to read. They books are impossible to put down the way it is. James Patterson has created a series for women about some amazing women.

Quick Read full, of suspense, love the fact that the chapters are short for easy reading while doing other tasks.. ie: the dr office, waiting for someone....

Another great read from James Patterson & Andrew Gross. I couldn't put it down! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
From the back cover:
The Women's Murder Club is back! A brilliantly diabolical killer is murdering people from every walk of life. The deaths seem unrelated but police homicide inspector Lindsay Boxer senses a connection and, together with medical examiner Claire, assistant D.A. Jill, and Chronicle reporter Cindy, finds a link that sends a chill through the entire nation. This killer's motives are unspeakable.

I started reading this book over the weekend and before I knew it I was done. It was a great page turner with an excellent twist at the end. Another great one by James Patterson.
Helpful Score: 1
This being the second book in the series, James Patterson does a good job of taking threads from the first book and tying them into the second book. It progressed fast like most of his books do and did a good job of keeping the reader involved. I liked how he has a main crime that the main characters are trying to solve but also there is usually a back story also that makes the book interesting and allows you to get to the know the characters a little bit more each book that you read.

2nd Chance reconvenes the Women's Murder Club, four friends (a detective, a reporter, an assistant district attorney, and a medical examiner) who used their networking skills, feminine intuition, and professional wiles to solve a baffling series of murders in 1st to Die. This time, the murders of two African Americans, a little girl and an old woman, bear all the signs of a serial killer for Lindsay Boxer, newly promoted to lieutenant of San Francisco's homicide squad. But there's an odd detail she finds even more disturbing: both victims were related to city cops. A symbol glimpsed at both murder scenes leads to a racist hate group, but the taunting killer strikes again and again, leaving deliberate clues and eluding the police ever more cleverly. In the meantime, each of the women has a personal stake at risk--and the killer knows who they are.
2nd Chance speeds along at a Formula One pace through many tight curves, but unlike recent entries in the Alex Cross series, it doesn't sacrifice good characters to a twisted plot. Lindsay's the star, but there's a fine esprit de corps among the four women, who are even better developed here than in the first book. What makes them both convincing and interesting as a criminal-justice juggernaut is their willingness to stick their necks out, even if they suffer for it. If you haven't picked up a James Patterson novel in a while, this is a great time to start anew.

After solving a particularly gruesome homicide investigation Detective Lindsay Boxer is promoted to Lieutenant. Although she is grateful for the promotion, she knows she would never have solved it without the help of her three good friends: Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, medical examiner Claire Washburn, and Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt. This informal group, known as the women's murder club, still meets from time to time as a support cell for each other.
When Lindsay starts another high profile homicide investigation, being a member of the club becomes very dangerous because the perpetrator marks some of them as his victims. He also kills a young black girl in front of a church, a older black woman in a laundry basement, and a black police officer. The two dead black females are related to police on the force. Lindsay and her superiors conclude that the killer has a grudge against the force. The only problem is they don't have a clue as to his identity.

"2nd Chance" is a good book but it doesn't even compete with some of his other books like "1st to Die" and "Mary Mary". It was very suspenseful and it was defiantly a page turner. But there were a few things I didn't like about it. One thing was I didn't like how the girls just became "best friends." Friendships take time and you do not become that good of friends with someone in only a couple of months. Also I found Jill's miscarriage to be completely pointless and irrelevant. I am not even sure why James Patterson even put it in the book at all. It wasn't like that was a main concern of the last book or anything. It just kind of seemed like an incomplete thought that he just decided to throw into the book to take up some room. Also I know that James Patterson is know for his plot twists at the end of his books but this one seemed very unnecessary. I liked the first ending more than I liked the "real" ending.
[close] The story moves along at a nice pace but I was very disappointed in the way this story wrapped up. It seemed such a far-reaching, implausible leap made only for the sake of a twist for the ending.

The Women's Murder Club is back in this second outing of this page turning series. Seemingly unrelated cases, a sniper killing of a black child in a poor neighborhood and an old black lady hung from a pipe in her apartment. Lindsay Boxer, now a lieutenant, and her team investigate and find all the victims are related to cops. Then one of their own is shot and then another. At the same time, Lindasy's cop father returns, having deserted his family decades ago. And the murders intertwine with his history in ways that are scary, and it becomes clear, Lindsay and her friends are targets too. Racing to find the killer twists the plot and then again it twists.
Good, but I could hear more of the coauthor Andrew Gross' voice in this book than that of James Patterson. Still a suspenseful tale

There's also alot of action so the book is fast paced. I read this book in two days because I couldn't put it down. Will defineatly read the next book in the series.
Obviously second in the series but no second class mystery/suspense here! This one gets more into Lindsay's background but also hits home with the other members of the murder club. It was a nice change of pace with plenty of action. With it being written by a man but such a great female lead, I'm truly amazed & hooked! Can't wait to read the next in the series!!

Great read right to the very end!
James Patterson has a real hit on his hands with "The Womens' Murder Club". The ladies once again get involved in murder. This time a random (or was it) spraying of bullets into a group of children, killing only one. Another death....a woman is found hanged. Was it suicide or murder? Any connection? FROM THE PUBLISHER
"The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco appear to be unrelated except in their brutality. But detective Lindsay Boxer senses there's some thread connecting them all. She calls her friends in the Women's Murder Club together to see if they can discover what it is. Surely some clue has been overlooked by their bosses and male colleagues." "Working with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a link. The victims were of different ages, lived in different locations, and were killed with different weapons. But each had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a chill through Lindsay's heart." The partners in the Women's Murder Club realize that this killer is after something unspeakable, something deeper than revenge, and that the next target could be one of them. They deduce where the killer is likely to strike next and bait a trap that can't be resisted. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be lethal. And there will be no second chance.

Second in the series and the action is taut, down and dirty. Lindsey Boxer and her women's murder club are only getting better.
Patterson didn't disappoint! Kept me intriqued!
Not a bad series but I have found it sadly disappointing when I compare it to the Alex Cross stories. One of the better sets of books Patterson has "co-written."
I like this series, this was a good mystery, and a very quick read, I like how the chapters were so quick. Looking forward to number 3!

Quick, suspenseful and full of action. Easy to read and the story line moved quickly. I'm not sure how James Patterson does it but he is able to write from a woman's perspective so well, you forget that a man is writing it. This books gives us a bit more insight into Lindsay and how sad she is.
Great read!
Excellent reading as expected.
Excellent story - intend to read all 7 of this series.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! Can't wait to get hold of the 3rd book. This one had me "figuring it out" until the very end. Had trouble putting it down.
Master of suspense James Patterson takes us into a terriying underworld with this second thrillerin his dazzling new Women's Murder Club series.
Second book in the series, The whole series is great.

Thrilling and addictive.
The Womens Murder Club is back! A brilliantly diabolical killer is murdering people from every walk of life.
This is 2nd in Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. It's almost as good as the first one. I loved the characters enough though that it didn't matter.
This is the 2nd book in the Women's Murder Club series. Very fast and hard to put down!!
I love this series and this was great!
Loved it! Well written 2nd book in The Women's Murder Club.
One of the best series to come along in recent memory. Solid characters, great storylines, and a smooth economy of works makes for a great read.
Great read!
I love anything that Patterson writes so it was one of the best books I've read in the series.
good story!
A little slow in spots, but it was still a good book! I thought the killer was someone else till the last few chapters.
Classic James Patterson!
2nd in the Women's Murder Club - another great one by James Patterson.
Another James Patterson thriller, and the best of the 5 or 6 that I've read! This one is another with The Women's Murder Club playing an important role in the plot. Detective Lindsay Boxer is looking for a serial killer whose victims are tied together in an unusual way. She "senses a connection" and with the help of the members of the Women's Murder Club finds the killer.
Good book, fast read good series of stories!!!
I really enjoyed this book. The Women's Murder Club is back.
Pretty much standard Lindsay Boxer book. I like them and they help me keep mind off of daily issues so I can get to sleep :-)

The 2nd in The Women's Murder Club series and as with the first one it is very interesting and a fast read. I really love this series and recommend them to everyone!
When I first started reading this book I thought it wasn't going to be as good as the first one. I was really surprised by the ending. I'm the type of person that likes to try and guess what happens before it happens, and I was kept guessing the whole time. Excellent book, can't wait to read the rest of the series.
2nd Chance is the second of James Patterson's Women's Murder Club mystery series, and as with most of his books, the action is fast and furious.
After book number one, First to Die, Lindsey Boxer has been promoted to lieutenant. She now heads San Francisco's homicide division. The calm of San Francisco shatters when it appears that a serial killer is again at work. At first, the targets are black and they seem to be random shootings. But Boxer figures out that all the victims have ties to the police. The killer leaves a trademark: a drawing of an unusual sort-part lion, part goat and part snake. The Women's Murder Club (Lindsey and her three gal-pals) discover that this is the symbol of a white supremacist hate group from prison. But they're especially upset to learn that this just might be an inside job. As with most Patterson books, just when you think the story has ended, there is a lot more still left.
One interesting aspect of 2nd Chance is that it gives the reader a look inside the politics of a homicide case. The African-American residents of San Francisco demand justice. The mayor pressures the chief of police to make a quick arrest. The chief of police breathes down the neck of Boxer and her staff for a quick solution, while his PR people try to put a positive spin on things. The longer the case goes unsolved, the more victims there are. And the FBI is forever on the sidelines, waiting for the chance to muscle in on the case. I'm sure it's something that goes on during all high-profile cases in big cities, but of which most of us are unaware.

Gripping story! James Patterson at his best...
2nd book in the series.
The Women's Murder Club is back! A brilliantly diabolical killer is murdering people from every walk of life. The deaths seem unrelated but police homicide inspector Lindsay Boxer senses a connection and, together with the medical examiner Claire, assistant D.A. Jill, and Chronicle reporter Cindy, finds a link that sends a chill through the entire nation. This killer's motives are unspeakable.
Wonderful book! I look forward to his next addition.

Great book
From back of box: "The sensational killings that have rocked San Francisco appear to be unrelated except in their brutality. But detective Lindsay Boxer senses there's some thread connecting them all. She calls her friends in the Women's Murder Club together to see if they can discover what it is.
Working with CHRONICLE reporter Cindy Thomas, Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt, and medical examiner Claire Washburn, Lindsay discovers that there is indeed a link. Each of the victims had a close relative in a particular profession, a profession that sends a chill through Lindsay's heart.
The partners in the Women's Murder Club deduce where the killer is likely to strike next and bait a trap that can't be resisted. But if their calculation is wrong, the consequences will be lethal. And there will be no second chance."
