I could not believe this mystery was the author's first published book. It was great, the story line was every changing and leading up to a very unexpected ending.

This is a WOW! mystery!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the read and I'm looking forward to more by the same author! The main character is really believable.

One of the best books I've read in years! I have the next book on the way now...

A good read. It is what I call an easy read. One that keeps your interest but is not real deep. I would recommend it.

This is Jodi Compton's debut novel. Speaking both as an avid reader and writer I can't say enough nice things about Compton's first effort. The twists and turns in this thriller fit nicely with the rollercoaster ride missing-persons investigator, Sarah Pribek embarks on in search of her missing husband. But wait, there's more! Compton's sequel - Sympathy between Humans - is equal to, or perhaps better, than 37th Hour.
Ms Compton, I'm telling anyone who'll listen, "This lady's a champ!"

Unusual plot, a fast read, great suspense.

This is a debut novel. It had an excellent, exciting plot and the main character, Sarah Pribek, is a gutsy and smart detective.

Fast read that holds your attention well. I hope this author writes more books.

good read keeps a very good pace.
excellent read
Sarah Pribek's husband vanishes without a trace. As a seasoned missing-person's investigator, the cop inside her knows something is wrong. The investigation takes her back to her husband's religion steeped childhood, his family, his cold cases.
Great and suspenseful! Stories of being lost and being found by dectectives that put their whole selves into the job. Finding missing people has a method, but that method is useless when a detective goes missing...
A first novel. A fast moving thriller.
I enjoyed this mystery of a husband who goes missing and his wife's search for him. His wife just happens to be a missing-persons investigator.
Very good debut novel, kept my interest. I believe this is the first in a series.
Was a very hard read. Boring characters with no real drive behind them, I forced myself to read it all the way thru.
The revelation at the end was surprising. I would read more books from the author.
Has a different twist to it.
Easy ready, pretty good character development, held my interest...mystery lovers will enjoy.
A very suspenseful read. Jodi Compton's first novel. It was well written, kept me on the edge throughout the book and she wrapped up the final part of the book in a manner that would suggest another novel to follow at a later date. I'm looking forward to her next work of art.
Sarah Pribeck must solve the mystery of her missing husband! Thoughtful and intelligent reading. I couldn't put it down!
A very interesting read. I will read others by this author. A good story with believable characters.
Good story. Very much a "who done it".
A seasoned missing-persons investigator, Sarah Pribek is used to anxious calls from wives and parents, used to the innocent explanations that resolve so many of her cases. But when her husband, a fellow officer, vanishes without a trace, the cop inside her knows: something is terribly wrong. Suddenly Sarah find herself at the beginning of the kind of investigation she has made so often. But for her, this one is personal. It will take her back to the beginning, to her husband's religion-steeped childhood, his family, his cold cases-including the one horrifing case that struck them both too close to home. And as she moves further down a trail of shocking surpresies and bitter revelations, Sarah is about to discover that her worst fear-that her husband is dead-may be less painful than what she will learn next.
Good thriller..lots of twists in the plot to keep it interesting.
Great book! I couldn't put it down.
An excellent book. I don't normally read mysteries, but this one was good. It takes place in Minnesota, which is where I live and they talk about places I have been.
an fbi agent searches for her missing husband revealing many secrets
smart ,tightly written-filed with a lot of twists and turns.
I was impressed with this new author so much I have already ordered her second book which happens to also include the main caracter from this one, Sarah Pribek. The story was suspenseful, lots of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down. Jodi's characters are believable, some you like, some you want to hate..., complex adults. In any event, I can't wait to meet them again.
Very good, very tight mystery
One woman search for her missing husband that spirls into a dark journey filled with bitter truths.

PRETTY GOOD BOOK. THERE WERE PARTS IN IT THAT KEPT ME TURNING PAGES ONE RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER, IT WAS A VERY FUN BOOK TO READ!
More twists and turns than you'd expect. A really good read.
