The connection between two beings to make a greater whole. 500 THINGS MY CAT TOLD ME is an exploration and celebration of the intangible, unfathomable and thoroughly fulfilling world between person and pet. I first worked with Faye Perovich on 500 THINGS MY CAT TOLD ME in 2002, and published the first version of this book then. It was well received, but it only had three photos in it and I always wanted to do more with the concept. Cats deserved more. They always deserve more, no matter how much you give them! Or so my cat tells me! For the past year, I have worked with editors, designers and photographers to figure out what the perfect format for this project needed to be. I?ve made designers crazy. I threw out all the photographs. I made fans wait too long. I made sure this was the best book it could be, to do justice to the promise of ?something very special? when this book is completed. In the beginning of the summer of 2012, I asked artist Andres Lambrada to provide fifty illustrations for this book and was so impressed by his talent on this project, I immediately asked him for twenty more. As Andres continued, I was so excited by his passion for capturing expressions of cats I insisted he draw even more for me. You?ll see his work, it?s exceptional. This book is his first published work. He is going to be big.
