This is the latest book in the Women's Murder Club series featuring Lindsay Boxer and friends. I was really looking forward to this book as it has been a while since the last book in the series, but I was disappointed. There were too many storylines going on in this book. The kidnapping cases ended up feeling insignificant with a poorly laid out story line. The ferry killer's case was interesting. Lindsay and her friends had so many negative things going on in their lives. When put together it did not all seem believable. This book seemed choppy - like James Patterson and Maxine Paetro wrote their own parts and put them together in the book without consulting one another. It did not have the typical James Patterson feel that I love. Overall, it was not his best book, but it was interesting enough to keep me reading.

Lindsay and the gang are back. A nice 6th book for this series. Again, I'm missing that "solving it together" thing they had in the first books. I think this "co-author" thing James Patterson has going on isn't working. His books have lost something. I'll continue with this series, of course, and hope for the best... I adore the characters, I just want to see more interaction with the girls.

This is a really good book. Sixth in The Women's Murder Club series, it is not a story of the women banding together and performing amazing feats to bring about true justice. There are two separate plots, connected by women who are members of the WMC, and I predict the reader will have trouble putting it down. Or, if the reader must stop reading for a while, the plot lines of murder and a bit of mayhem will creep into her/his thoughts and s/he might as well give in and pick up the book to finish it.

The conclusion is very satisfactory, causing me to think that Patterson must have been listening to his readers, dissatisfied with the frothy and semi-lifelike plots we've been given lately.

In this the 6th Women's Murder Club book we have several things going on at once. First there is a horrific shooting on a ferry boat that leaves several dead and women's club member Claire in the hospital. Then we have the abduction of a child from a wealthy family and the murder of her nanny. Lindsay Boxer takes a demotion to get back on the street to help solve both cases and of course nothing is as it originally appears. It moves quickly but frankly I would like to have seen more time dedicated to the kidnapping instead of the ferry shooting and subsequent trial as it had some very interesting aspects that were not addressed to my satisfaction. In any event it is a good quick read.

The gang is back to solve another case, except that this time, there are numerous parallel mysteries running amok in Patterson's THE 6TH TARGET.

Fred Brinkley, a man who hears voices inside his head, is videotaped murdering four innocent people aboard a ferry. He's charged with attempting to kill two others, one of whom happens to be a now critically injured Claire Washburn.

A five-year-old piano playing prodigy by the name of Madison Tyler is snatched off the street along with her nanny, and with no ransom note coming in to the family, things aren't looking good.

At Blakely Arms, an apartment complex, things are going from bad to worse as a dog is viciously murdered, residents are attacked, and people are beginning to suspect a neighbor in the building.

Demotions, pregnancies, relationship break-ups, life-altering decisons -- all of these plot lines vie for space within THE 6TH TARGET. As the four players of The Women's Murder Club set out to get their lives together while solving a series of mysteries, you'll be glad that you're along for this fast-paced, thrilling ride.

I enjoyed this book as much as the previous five. The story moves along quickly with surprising twists. I don't always enjoy being in the head of killer while reading books but it works well here. I look forward to reading the next books.

Excellent 6th book in Patterson's series. This one has a lot more going on at once so it felt like it jumped around a lot more than previous books. It had two distinct crime stories which of course also include a trial. Then there was two romantic storylines for Boxer. The sidekicks were a lot less developed in this book and the Women's Murder Club really didn't work together to solve the crime.

Number 6 in the Women's Murder Club series, "The 6th Target" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro packs all the wallop of a skilled master author of police procedural fiction. From page 5, when Claire Washburn is gunned down trying to stop a shooting spree the action never stops.
Patterson and Paetro keep fans of the excellent series reading as Lindsay Boxer must juggle three separate cases to find her friend's assailant.
Be careful what you wish for, you may get it. Lindsay reduced in grade, is back working the streets while her partner is promoted to her former position. Plot twists and curves bring home a winner for the reader.

I gave my review 3 stars because it is James Patterson; however, I was disappointed with this book! It was almost as if he decided to end the book without really wrapping it up. None of the plots had anything to do with each other. I understand it is a series so maybe there will be more to come later, but I expected something more robust from the author.

This book was missing something. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is b/c it was a good book but lacked some of the magic the others had. There were far too many storylines too. Each story could have made its own book but since they were all smooshed together in this book they didn't get the attention they deserved. The outcomes were far too quick and easy. I'll keep up with this series but hope it gets back to its roots.

Poor Lindsay! You just wonder what is going to happen to the girl next. Is she going to lose everything, including her mind? Or is she going to come through like a Queen Bee? It just keeps you guessing and, of course, all the while she is taking care of her friends and the public! Another great JP book! Next?

If you've been reading the series, you should read this book, too. You meet lots of crazy characters and get intertwined in the non-stop action. BUT, unlike the other books, this one kinda leaves you hanging on a few things. I hope book 7 clears things up! :o)

The ambigouous endings have become a recent trend in this series. The story is fast-moving but something seems to be missing. The book is easy enough to understand even for those who have not followed the series. It's still a worthwhile read for Patterson fans.

I always enjoy reading all the James Patterson's books and have read "most" of his. This one is a really good "page turner" and was such that I really had a hard time trying to figure out the end of the story. He just kept me looking to solve it right to the end. A very "good" story.

This is the 6th book in the Women's Murder Club series. I typically like James Pattersons book and this one was good. Maybe not his best writing but an interesting storyline and well written. The story seemed to skip around a bit with several different storylines rather than focus on just one thing.

I have read all of Patterson's books and lately the collaborations are going downhill. This book had 3 storylines and every one of them were anticlimatic. This book was peddled as "thrilling," "horrifying," "twisted," and "frightening." I don't think any of those words actually apply to the book. There was no mystery to the "whodunit" in any of the plots either. Rather disappointing, especially compared to what we would normally expect from a book with Patterson's name on it.

The least "gory" of the series. But not nearly as suspenseful or interesting. I love SF so enjoy the setting and the members of the 'womens' murder club' are people I would like to know. However, it is begining to seem like it could be hazardous to your health to be a friend of theirs.
