This book is a collection of short stories by distinguished American authors like John Updike, Alice Adams, Raymond Carver, Amy Tan, Frank Conroy, and many others. Each story is preceded by a short description by the author of the process of creating the story and finding the voice for it. I found that these introductory segments made the experience of reading the stories much richer.
