I have a few on my bookshelf, and : Davita's Harp - Chaim Potok (definitely recommend) The Chosen - Chaim Potok (definitely recommend) Exodus - Leon Uris (good overview of Jewish history and Israel's creation) Intuition - Allegra Goodman (doesn't directly discuss Judaism, but the author is Jewish) Kaaterskill Falls - Allegra Goodman (about an Orthodox Jewish community in NY - good book) The Ladies Auxiliary - Tova Mirvis (I'd definitely recommend this one!) |

I think if you check the shelves of most of the folks in here, you'll find them, and searches for new books posted turns up some every day. Plus, if people are tagging their Jewish books, you can find a lot that way. |

The unside of the book cover reads , Away is the epic and intimate story of young Lilian, a dangerous innocent, an accidental heroine. When her family is destroyed in a Russian pogrom, Lillian comes to America alone, determined to make her way in a new land. When word comes out that her daughter. Sophie, might still be alive, Lillian embarks on an odyssey that takes her from the world of the Yiddish theater on New york's East side, to seattle's Jazz District, and up to Alaska, along the fabled Telegraph Trail toward Siberia". This was a really good book, with alot of Jewish history, a love story and some very fortunate and unfortunate events. A good read in all. |

This is a teen or young adult story about an American teen, Mitch Green, who goes on a study program to Israel and falls in love with the country and decides to stay. A lovely story about family, relationships, and growing up. |
