Three contemporary stories (same author); very explicit sex scenes. If you're looking for character development, motivation, plot, etc., go elsewhere. If you're looking for hot sex scenes in the here & now, this is your bag.

Obviously not as developed like her other novels, but these are perfect little novellas with plenty of sex to keep you occupied for a few hours. You want hot sex between three hot couples? Winner

Three short stories of troubled women meeting well off, beautiful men that are great in bed...who could ask for more? Present day knight in shining armor riding a horse to carry the maiden off and rescue her. Being all short stories, the characters are not as developed as her novels (each one in my opinion could be their own book), but the writing style is pure McKenna...down right dirty and raw with deep emotions tied to each sexual act. I love her writing and I love this book. Afternoon read that carries you away to another life for a bit. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes these stories.

I just didn't like the characters in these stories. I enjoyed a few of McKenna's novels so I was really surprised these stories were such a poor quality. For example, in the first story Annie escapes from an abusive relationship only to fall in love with Jacob who is another controlling jerk. What drove me crazy is that she doesn't realize she is in love with him until he started acting like a jerk. When he was being super sensitive and nice, she kept being mean to him. There were scenes in the stories that border on rape and being that these women just came out of bad relationships, I thought it was just a set up for them returning to another bad one. The men in these stories weren't your charming alpha-males (because I usually love them). They just seemed manipulative and mean.

I thought this book was a waste, but definitely check out some of her novels. They are much better.

Each of the women in these three stories are recovering from relationships gone bad and each of the men are in lust at first sight. The men were just too forceful and aggressive for my tastes in that some of the intimate scenes seemed more like sexual attacks than making love. Because of that this book went from being a really great read to just okay.
