This was a pretty good thriller with lots of twists and turns to,keep the story interesting. It's about a book in a book, a manuscript which will ruin the lives of the a lot of powerful people if it gets published.

The author of the manuscript is one of the narrators, and he tells his story about what he and his best friend Charlie Wolfe did while in college. Anyone who managed to get a copy of this manuscript is in danger of their lives. CIA and big shot politicians will do anything to make sure this book never gets published.

Fast reading and a good ending made for a great read.

What a crazy whirlwind ride that didn't stop turning until the very end! With a crazy cast of characters, I definitely had to chart this one out from an author and the things he set in motion to a publisher, editor and the subject of this book, this book had an interesting combination of thriller rolled into the book publishing world.

The publishing aspect of the book was so interesting, to see all of the hands that it takes to get a book from the author into the public's hands and then to add the anonymous author and the thriller aspect was genius. As a book blogger I have an interest in the publishing world and I always find it interesting to read books that center around the business of books.

An explosive book is about to be published, which will ruin one man's life. The race is on to get all copies of this manuscript. That is easier said than done. An interesting look at the cut throat world of publishing. Quite a few characters are involved, so pay close attention. London, Zurich, Paris, Washington DC are all visited in this rounds the world in one day adventure.Enough surprises to keep you guessing until the last page.

Isabel Reed is an aging literary agent, past her career prime in the fast-moving world of publishing. She receives a hard copy manuscript of "The Accident," written by an anonymous author. The seemingly credible tale is an unauthorized biography and expose of Charlie Wolfe, a wealthy and powerful media mogul. The revelations in the book are so shocking that Wolfe and perhaps even the US government is willing to kill to prevent its publication.

The Accident is a story that takes place in one day, told in chapters that focus on a particular character (or characters, when their paths cross). Once the players are introduced in the first few chapters, the story really takes off as Isabel find herself in a cat and mouse chase with would-be assailants, with few allies in the double-crossing world of publishing. I did think that the pace lagged a bit during the third part of the book, but Isabel is a clever protagonist and Pavone keeps some surprises for the end.

Fans of The Expats and thriller readers will enjoy this one

I loved loved loved this book. The writing was excellent, the mystery was well rounded and the ending was satisfying. My only complaint was having to go back occasionally to remember something that had happened previously because there were so many players. But it is a minor complaint and doesn't take any stars away from my rating. I highly recommend!
