I really like this author, but I wasn't a huge fan of this book. It goes behind the scenes in the literary world. I thought it was pretty monotonous. It took awhile to get to the ending and how everything got wrapped up, and those parts were good. The rest just didn't do anything for me.

This is a good behind the scenes look at the publishing industry from various authors' POVs, at different stages in their careers. It was about 100 pages too long, though. Drawn out too much in the middle, I lost interest in the minute details of the four authors' daily lives.

Things picked up near the end when their book finally hit, but then dragged again until the resolution. I felt it became a little over-the-top and contrived. I was glad to finally finish this one.

Can I get my $7.99 back?

I was not a big fan of Kendall, she came across to me as a big whiner. There were times in the book that I wanted to jump in and smack her across the face, she was that irritating. Out of the four, I thought she had the weakest character plot. I would have preferred if the books main heroine was Faye or even Mallory.

I'm not a big fan of books within book plots, to me it feels like an easy way to write a novel.

I was hoping that the book would have become better as I read along but it didn't. The ending to me was very anti-climatic.

The Accidental Bestseller is an interessting story. It's somewhat weird because you're reading a story about characters that are writing a story about themselves. It was a good summer read but I was disappointed that the main character Kendall comes accross as mostly a helpless woman who can't seem to do anything without her friends' help. Also, the big secret that the character of Mallory is keeping from everyone is pretty much a let down becuase it just doens't seem like that big a deal. I think the problem that Faye Truett, the preacher's wife, deals with in the story was the best plot line and had the most satisfying ending.
