Peter Mayle, erudite sojourner and bestselling author, sets off once more, traveling the world in search of the very best life has to offer. Whether telling us where to buy the world's best caviar or how to order a pair of thirteen-hundred-dollar custom-made shoes, . . . he covers everything the well-heeled need to know to enjoy the good life.
This is such a fun book to read. The author experiences life's decadent pleasures and reports on them. For example, having a shirt custom made, the real scoop on caviar, the experience of having shoes custom made. I felt as though I experienced each of the pleasures, without spending the money.
Enjoyable, light read. Esp. for fans of Mayle's other works.
This was the first book I've read of Mr. Mayle's works, and I loved it! I really like his sense of humor. Will definitely read again.
A delicious and delightful read, Mayle has a lovely sensibility to his writing. He is, as ever, friendly, accessible, self-deprecating, and amused.
I really enjoy this author's humor.
