This is a wonderful book; I had several occasions to meet Mr. Burton, and each time I told him a larger number of times I had read his book - he loved to hear that so much that he would autograph and GIVE a copy to anyone who spoke to him! He was a terrific man! Anyone who reads this book will not be disappointed!
I read this book to my children as they were growing up. It was a favorite time for all of us, my husband, my children and I would lay on our bed while I read. Many nights I read until my voice just left me. The children would beg for "just one more page". My youngest son will be 20 in a few days, he wants "The Adventures of Dixie North" for his birthday and we can't find it. If any one has any information on a "reasonably" priced copy of this book, please contact me at emgarret@hotmail.com I joined this book swap club because when I searched for Dixie North, (I thought) it showed that someone had one to swap, apparently, I'm not sure how to search for what I want on here.
