Angelina Quill is an American working undercover for the CIA in France. Oliver McCrea is a Scottish SOCA (Serious Organized Crime Agency/Basically British FBI) agent working undercover in France. The two meet and though neither knows the others agenda they have a certain chemistry. When it turns out they are both out for a little vengeance, different reasons, same enemy, they begin working together.

An Affair of Vengeance is fast paced and action packed, its even a serious page turner. Unfortunately it read more like a novella than an actual novel. While I enjoyed the storyline, even the characters, the shortness of the story ended up being a detriment as it didnt allow for their relationship to develop fully or realistically before they were professing their love and planning for their future. Had the author held off on hurrying us to the Happily Ever After she would have had a perfect start to what could be an engaging romantic suspense series starring an interesting investigative couple.

As it is I dont see this leading into a series, and thats a shame. The hero and heroine have definite appeal and the writer knows how to keep a captive audience. I am a sucker for all things romantic and it is not often that I lower a books rating based solely on the romantic portion of the story had this one not been rushed it would have been fantastic. All in all this was a great story lacking in a little detail and a heftier page number.
