I think this is the best book in the series since the first one. I enjoyed the evolution of Ollie and Company from the last few books. The mystery was much less opaque and the red herrings were nicely misleading. :)

I really enjoyed this book...only once did I get frustrated with Ollie...but overall a really good step forward in the series!

I like this mystery series about the White House kitchen help and the secret service interaction with the First Family. This on was about finding out who and why someone killed the Chief of staff and the First Ladies liason. Ollie the white house chief chef looks into things with the sensitivity director, Sargent who usually just gives everyone a bad time. They are also planning a birthday dinner for the Secretary of State and all this makes for an interesting mystery. I would recommend it to mystery lovers with food recipes in the back. I learned a lot about handling puff pastry.

#5 in the White House Chef series. I enjoy this series as it gives a behind the scenes view of the inner workings of the White House. The characters are interesting and we get to know them individually over the course of the series. And the recipes in the back of the book doesn't hurt either.

A well crafted fun read. Enjoy the development of the characters and the glimpses in to the functioning of the White House. The staff rarely are recognized for long hours and hard work. These books achieve that in an entertaining way.
