I loved this book. It was very well written and a compelling read. Highly recommend it.
Yes, it's a novel - set in the time of Alexander's armies. But I can't help feeling that the country, the people, the culture have not changed that much. As I read this book, in my mind I kept putting our own military into the story. It was written so well, and it made me sad.
