Great book! This was a first for me by this author and I loved it!
Sidney Sheldon books are hard to put down, and this one is noexception. It will not dissapoint. I will draw you into the story and make you feel like you are there.
Great story. But the characters personalities and conversations were a bit far fetched which kept bringing me back and reminding me that I'm reading a book. Everyone seems to stutter! It is a page turner.

In four cities across the world, four people die violently and mysteriously. The dead share a single crucial link: each was connected to an all-powerful environmental think tank. Two of the victims' widows -- accomplished artist Diane Stevens and international supermodel Kelly Harris -- may hold the key to their husbands' demise. Terrified for their lives, suspicious of each other, and armed only with their own wits and guile, they must join forces in a nightmare cycle of hunt-and-kill. At stake is the shattering truth about the tragedies that robbed them of the men they loved ... and about an awesome conspiracy whose ultimate target is as big as the earth and as close as the air we breathe.
I liked this book because it wasn't your everyday mystery. The reasoning behind the disappearances was something a bit different.
There were a few things I didn't like about the book. One being that I was about to put it down when it really started getting interesting. I was close to 100 pages through it; however, towards the end there are a lot of nice twists and turns. Another think I didn't like about this book is how often the word eclectic was used. This isn't an every day word, especially in a murder mystery, so it jumped out of the pages a bit more than another word might have. It turned out to be a pretty good book, but not one that I would enjoy reading again and again. All in all I would give it a 3 -3 ½.

This was my first Sidney Sheldon book and I loved it. It was very fast-paced! I could not put it down and I wanted all my friends to read it. This one reminds me of the action and excitement in the DaVinci Code. Will keep you guessing. I'm only parting with it because I have too many books to read!

I did not put this down until I finished it. This is pure non-stop entertainment and should be judged as just that. Yes, the plot gets a little silly, but it's highly enjoyable.
Yes, the two women manage to stay ahead of the killers at every turn, but they are so likable you can overlook how unrealistic it is. Yes, they manage to thwart the attacks on their lifes throughout the whole story, but it keeps the pages turning. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's filled with action, murder and several surprises. I can describe this novel only one way, international intrigue filled Gucci and Prada.
Sidney Sheldon has been one of my favorite authors for years and his long awaited new novel is the proof as to why; the man wrote books that simply can't be put down. When you finsih them you close them with a small sigh or a phew!
Are You Afraid Of The Dark is bit of a thriller filled with twists and surprises. I miss Sidney Sheldon's books.

OK - I have never read a Sidney Sheldon book before, so I didn't really know what to expect. This book is OK - I liked it. I read this book in one day - very quick read. Was unable to put it down. It's about two widows who are working together to find out who killed their husbands. The run into some amazing, never ending luck while they work together to figure it all out.

In 4 cities across the world people are dying violently. Two of the victims widows may hold the key to the mystery. They join forces to reveal an owesome comspiracy whose ultmate target is as big as the earth and as close as the air we breathe.
After a series of mysterious deaths of Kingsley International Group employees, two of the employees' widows try to figure out whether their husbands' deaths were accidents or murder. As they begin to uncover the secrets behind the huge think tank their husbands worked for, they find themselves pursued by a ruthless killer.
"Are You Afraid of the Dark" is standard Sidney Sheldon fare: gorgeous, glamorous, and feisty heroines, plenty of chases and narrow escapes, and an international setting. You won't find a sophisticated story here; just lots of fast-paced action and a few plot twists. All in all it's a light and entertaining read that will draw you in from the first page.

Full of suspense. I could not put it down.
Another great Sheldon book.
I truly enjoyed this book because the two star core characters had to use their wit to stay alive. It gave them a chance to bond. One a Model and the other, a painter, kept the killers off balance thoughout the book.
Sidney Sheldon is one of my favorite authors and he didn't let me down on this one!
Sidney Sheldon's last fiction book. A real page turner filled with action and suspense. I couldn't put it down.

I'd forgotten how much I like Sidney Sheldon...his books are fast-paced, suspenseful and interesting and this book is right up there with his best. Loosely based on fact, it shows how weather control technology can be used for evil, rather than to help our planet. A little scary!
It was ok. Read once.
a page turner I was up all night
A mystery told as only Sidney Sheldon could do it. A New york Times best-seller.
A creepy, addictive book
This is another solid book by Sheldon. If you have enjoyed his earlier books than you will certanly enjoy this one.

I just love Sheldon, the books go so fast!!
Read like it was written by a middle/high school student.
Sidney Sheldon is a great storyteller.

In Denver, a small plane crashes into the mountains. In Manhattan, a body washes ashore along the East River. I couldn't put the book down, I read it in 2 days
Well, typical Sheldon, a pager turner. Two problems though...again, typical Sheldon...ENOUGH W/THE WORD DARLING! Ugh, really?? And come on, if your husband is killed by his boss are you really dumb enough to trust ANYONE in the company? STOP calling other employees when the boss is out to kill you!!!
O.K., it was a good read all in all.

I was in a book club and never got a chance to read all my books, including this one.
This book is missing it's dustjacket, but is in otherwise great condition. Sorry, but I have two small children, and sometimes dust jackets get lost.
