In this fifth entry in the series Lara McClintoch leads an antiques and archaeology tour to Tunisia. She must deal with a mixed bag of tourists: a spoiled teenager, a famous model, a snoop, a blackmailing journalist and the list goes on. The story of a Carthaginian merchant ship that sank over two thousand years ago has stirred everyone's imagination and some with murderous intent. Sure enough death hits the group and a mystery must be solved. There is a lot of interesting information about Carthage and the Punic wars woven into the story as Lara tries to cope with a very diverse group of people.

New Series for me and I loved it. This is an Archaeological Mystery set in Tunisia. Lara McClintoch, owner of a Toronto antiques store, takes a group of people on a shopping and educational tour of Tunisia. There are two sets of dive companies looking for treasure in the bay, danger, murder...all the things necessary to a good mystery. Interesting history thrown in and even a tiny bit of subtle romance.

The attractive and intelligent Lara McClintoch, travelling antiques dealer from Toronto, leads her shop's first-ever tour. Billed as an antiques and archeology trip to Tunisia, the tour soon runs into trouble as greed is ignited by the possibility of a fabulous sunken treasure, and tour members are murdered.

This was better than her earlier novels, Hamilton is getting better at integrating the archaeological material into the storyline. She's still a bit clumsy in parts but in this one she succeeded in surprising me a little by the end. The parallel with the ancient Phoenician storyline was well done.
This series still has room to grow but still not a waste of my time and I'm still enjoying the lead character who is not helpless and all defenceless woman, just a normal woman caught in somewhat strange situations.

Another historical travel, mystery, thrilling book by Lyn Hamilton. Her series just gets better and better, if that is poossible. Page turner, quick read, light and lively, too.
