Synopsis
A vivid portrait of an American family in the middle decades of the twentieth century by bestselling author Alice McDermott.
MY COMMENTS: This is not one of Alice McDermott's best. It's a little flat and disjointed. Read by Martha Plimpton, I found it satisfying enough to listen to and stay with for my 10 hour drive, so definitely not disappointing in that regard. It is soft and endearing with an ending that leaves the listener wondering what happened.

It was a bit slow in spots but overall a nice story about an American Family in the 60's.
I guess my expectations were too high. I'm done with the 3rd disc of 9 and I'm still waiting for a plot line. I'm pretty sure I will be reposting this soon.
