Age of Bronze is an excellent graphic novel series, especially for any older kids you know suffering through the Iliad instead of romping through it as the lucky ones do. I particularly liked that Shanower's greeks actually looked GREEK, not like dark-haired WASPs. A Thousand Ships is part one, and nowhere in it do the words "rosy fingered dawn" appear in it.
There is a bit of what teevee calls "sexual situations," nothing heavy-duty, this ain't porn by any stretch of the imagination, but it's there. Plus remember it's the Trojan war, so expect some violence too. Still, if you're comfortable with the subject matter, this is could be an excellent introduction to a classic work that's survived the test of time.
