I still have a few pages left in this bok, but it has been a fairly fast read. A cute story set in a small Texas town with romance and, of course, Friday night football.
It's a sweet little story set in a small town where gossip runs rampant. The story takes a bit to unfold but it's amusing. I thought Marla Jean was too nice for her own good though. Decent read.

Marla Jean Bandy might be down, but she's not out. Her ex-husband left her for another woman, a librarian who is 20 years her senior. She is not ready for Mr. Right, but why not have a little fun. Her only problem is her childhood crush, Jake Jacobson. Jake doesn't want forever, and he feels he should protect his best friend's little sister from all the bad boys who are lining up to give her a good time. She needs a man to make her believe that love can last, and for once in his life, Jake wonders if that could be him. A cute funny romp, with lots of good ole country charm. Loved this one and will be looking for more from this author.
