The latest installment in Patterson's Alex Cross series is one that really took me by surprise. I remember with the last Cross book I vowed I would go back to listen to the audiobook but as it happened I got the book first and I really liked it. A high profile mystery that brings back all the characters the reader has come to love a while back and that truly vanished into the background lately.

The story builds up great but the revelation of who the killer is, is a bit of a letdown, not exciting enough and it seems everything Alex learns in his case was handed to him. Also there are a few points hardly to believe, especially when it comes to the cover ups.

In the end the novel is better than the past ones. It left me wanting more Cross novels.

A much needed improvement over the last book. This had to help save the career of Alex Cross for the fan base that is following. It is getting to the point though that Alex needs to hang up his gun. There can only be so much one man can do to fight crime in DC. Unless he is like Brett Favre.

Alex Cross is confronted with a couple of family issues as he tries to solve another case. The plot takes a while to build up and the climax is resolved in 50 pages or less. This book is good if you like Patterson. After reading the Cross series, this book is a little disappointing because the story development is long and the ending comes in from nowhere. The question of "where did that come from?" is asked as one nears the end of the book. Patterson usually wraps up his books rather well but this is wrapped up too quickly and not as clean as previous books.

Fabulous to the very end. It is always best when you haven't solved the mystery in the middle of the book. Never guessed who did it until it was disclosed.

I keep reading these, always like them. . . . . dry in places, too much family involved, and not much on the killer, more bad guy stuff needed to make it another great 1.

Alex Cross's niece is found brutally murdered. Overcome with grief, Alex vows to take down her killer before he strikes again. But shortly after he begins the investigation, Alex discovers that his niece had gotten mixed up with some very important, very dangerous people. And she's not the only one who has disappeared.

The hunt for the murderer leads Alex and his girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, to Washington's most infamous club--a place where every fantasy is possible, if you have the credentials to get in. The killer could be one of their patrons, one of Washington's elite who will do anything to keep their secrets buried.

With astonishing plot twists and electrifying revelations that will keep readers on the edge of their seat, I AM ALEX CROSS is James Patterson's most suspenseful Alex Cross novel yet.

A good story about Alex Cross searching for the people responsible for murdering his niece. Some nasty stuff in the book so you are warned. Some sad moment with Nana Mama. I like James Patterson & his stories but this one kind of disappointed me with the quick lets just finish ending.

A great Alex Cross adventure. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Not the best Alex Cross book but it has some high notes that I can't mention without spoiling it. The problem is it is very short and I had the killer figured out very early in the book so there was no surprise twist at the end. No suspense. But the next Alex Cross book is set up at the end of this one.

Another great read from Patterson. He is investigating the death of his niece, who he didn't know was living in DC. There is a grewsome killer on ther loose who has ties to the White House.

I have read and enjoyed all the previous Alex Cross books, and enjoyed this one as well. However, I was a little disappointed in who the killer ended up being. I had it narrowed down to two people by about half-way through, which isn't typical of Patterson's books. I've either read too many by him and so expect his "curveball" killers or he's getting sloppier the more he writes.
It was a good read. Hard to put down and still gripping, even if I knew, mostly, what to expect. Still had a few "didn't expect THAT" moments, so it was good.

It has been a while since I've read an Alex Cross novel. Has it really been 16 of them?

It was a very fast book and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I was a little disappointed that Bree took a back seat to the action but still her role was pivotal. I also miss the interaction between Cross and Sampson. I did manage to figure out who the killer was before the end but it does keep you guessing.

Good read. I know the 17th book is out already so I better with the program and read that one too.

As with all the other Alex Cross books, this was great. Can't wait to get the next one to read.

I was very impressed coming off of Cross Country which was a fantastic book. This book is definitely a good read because it follows dectective Cross but I didn't like it as well as some of his others (including Cross Country). The ending was weak and a little predictable. Again, still a good read if you follow the series.

This was a good book, but not a great book from James Patterson. As a fan of the Alex Cross series and James Patterson in general I was a little disappointed, but overall it was a good book.

Very good book. Reminds me of some of Patterson's early Alex Cross novels. Many twists and turns with a lot of dead ends, but Alex always gets his killer. Hated for the book to end!

I really enjoyed this book - felt the mystery and crime-solving were compelling and moved along quickly. I have always found the character of Alex Cross to be quite a hero - to his work and especially to his family. Hard to put this book down. Highly recommended.

This book is more typical Patterson when he does not have a co-author. It starts out with a gruesome murder (signature Patterson) so no surprise there, only this time, the victim is a member of the family. Lots of twists and turns and we are reunited with several recurring characters from previous books. There is a small subplot involving Alex's beloved Nana. Of course, the surprise ending. Again, a library book, so I can't help you if this is on your wish list. Be patient. It is worth the wait. I read it in less than 1 day.

Classic Alex Cross novel from Patterson. Good Read. Improvement from a few of the last that were not so great, though I sure like all of them.

Before long Alex is confronting some very powerful, protective and dangerous people. These people will do anything to keep their secrets safe. As Alex closes in on the kiuller he discovers evidence hat points to the unimaginable. Another fast reading entry in the series.
