Alexander at his worst best - well beloved by preschoolers through 2nd grade (and beyond if they'd just admit it).

Alexander is having a bad day, and comically wants to move to Australia. One of my favorites when I was a kid, my kids don't enjoy it like I did.

An excellent book for those days when just nothing seems to go right. We read this book to show that not every day is perfect and that moving to Australia probably wouldn't help (it's part of the book...). My older son sympathises with Alexander and tells him to go to sleep and that tomorrow will be a better day.

"Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day", by Judith Viorst, helps children learn that everyone has a bad every once in a while, even "in Australia". In perticular, Alexander is having the worst day ever. Everything seems to be going wrong. Throughout the book Alexander makes comments that he's going to move to Australia. Then the book concludes that even in Austrailia, people have bad days.

I'm a 36-year old male and this has been my favorite book for as long as I can remember.

It's nice to know that even after all these years, when you have a bad day, it will be ok.

Even in Australia.

What a great book!!!! Every child has a bad day! What a great book to read with your child when they do. My son loves this book and ths book validates that sometimes days like that happen, but it's o.k.
