Kept my interest til the end with Russian mob torture scenes and the wild parties of the Florida jet set.

This wasn't my favorite Tami Hoag novel but it was still a fun read. I did LOVE how smart assed the main character was. Her comebacks had me chuckling to myself a few times. Definately has some great mystery and suspense. Personally I just thought some of her earlier novels were better :)

I thought this was one of Hoag's most successful attempts at a surprise ending. Very good read.

Elena Estes is back after Dark Horse. This time, a horse groom where she lives is murdered. She takes it personally and gets involved. A great read - I like the Estes character and I hope to see her in the future. The glimpse inside the lives of wealthy Palm Beach is very interesting, although the book has less about the Horse Show crowd than the other book. Hoag presents her character pretty vividly, but Elena is, of course, the most developed. It's easy to see the world through her eyes, even though she is a completely different person than I am.

Had to read in one sitting! Hoag has crafted a novel with many angles and twists that makes this book into a page turner! Sequel of sorts to Dark Horse, the Alibi Man once again tells the story from Elena Estes's point of view.

My first Tami Hoag book and it won't be my last. She is a great writer, smooth reading and easily understood characters. This was a great introduction to a new genre of books for me to read!
Good suspense. I didn't see the ending coming!
I really liked this book, of course I like anything Tami Hoag writes
This was a real page turner - I have read Tami Hoag's books in the past and really like her as an author. It is fast-paced and keeps you guessing.
Good book. A bit nasty...a lot of sexual crime that I didn't care to read about. I finished it, though. The ending was not as satisfactory or conclusive as I would have hoped, but it was ok.
This was the first Tami Hoag book I read. After reading it, I had to buy more of her books. This one had a very interesting ending!
One of Tami Hoag's better ones. A good read!
Wow!! Stayed up until wee hours of dawn completing because I just had to know how it turned out...
The last Hoag book I read. Just as good as her others, but I've grown out of my Hoag phase?
Hoag is awesome I love her books and this one was no exception I do not read books in order most of the time and only find out afterwards that I am in the middle of a series. But that works with her books they are all good.
good book
This is the first Tami Hoag novel that I've read in a while, and I'm glad it was this one. Murder, corruption, the Russian mob and the elite country club set all rub elbows no matter what the cost, but the cost comes in lives lost in some gruesome ways. I read this fast, enjoyed the female sleuth and was surprised with the ending.
Love Tami Hoag!
I thought this was a very good read, and much better than her other recent ones! It kept me guessing and kept me turning the pages.
Great book! Another great novel by Tami Hoag. I always look forward to reading her work.
I read this in one day at jury duty. It was a life saver. Engaging til the end.
Ex-detective Elena Estes has a serious attitude problem. Detective James Landry is in love with her and after 10 months she kicks him to the curb. She is a major bitch - just protecting her heart - but holy crap she is her own worst enemy. It has been three years since Elena's disgrace with the sheriff's office and she is still self-destructive. People like her should stay out of the publics eye.
Elena stumbles upon the body of her groom (horse farm) and calls Landry. She can't keep her nose out of the mystery and uncovers many details that Landry doesn't have access too. She's a great detective but the attitude gets annoying real quickly.
This was a terrific book. The mystery was engrossing all the way until the last page. The surprise ending truly catches you by surprise. I honestly didn't see it coming.

This book was just too dark for me. I have enjoyed her books in the past but I was really disappointed in this one. I almost didn't finish it. I thought it was unnecessarily violently graphic. I don't mind violence when it serves a purpose, but I felt it was just for the shock value here.
All in all, a big disappointment.
