This is a "revisit everyone who came before" kind of book. It was like sinking into the family. I smiled every time I turned the page.
If you are not a fan of the series, nor have read the previous 3-4 books, do not read this one. It is NOT a stand-alone.
No real spoilers, but the one thing you will want to know is. . . The pupcubs are born!!

This was a different book. This is a wrap-up of the first part/arc. I liked reading about the characters and getting updates on them; very much a "where are they now" and how are they dealing with the fall of Silence. While I still liked, this was dry and lacked the adventure/excitement of previous books. It will be curious to see if new/newish characters get theirs in the next (or the children of previous characters)- Silver, Tanique, Pax, Leila, Jon.
The Psy-Changeling series is one of my absolute favorite series to read. I always look forward to the next story. In the first 14 books, Nalini Singh managed to do lots of world-building and progressing the storyline forward while each story was still an individual couple's story. I was so excited to get this book and see who the next couple would be. If you are looking for a great romance story like I was and expect from this author, you will be sorely disappointed. This book revisits all of the previous characters which is nice, but it includes absolutely NO romance story which was my main purpose in purchasing this book. I am very disappointed and can only hope Singh will return to writing a romance with the next story in this series.
