We finally have Holly's story (her brother Nick is book 1, sister Merry book 2). This works as a standalone. Holly's love is her store, "A Shop for All Seasons" and her social media accounts (she does videos dressed as an elf). She has an ongoing feud with Declan who runs his dad's hardware store next door. Declan is a bit bitter. He gave up his life (and his girlfriend broke up with him) when he moved back home to take care of his dad when he broke a hip and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. His dad is also bitter due to his divorce from his wife several years ago. Declan blames his mom and limits his contact with her. As we all know, there is much more to the story (his dad did something he shouldn't have done).
Anyway, Holly and Declan go back and forth with pranks. They do talk and spend more time together when Declan is the only one who can get Holly's Christmas decorations up in time for the town's holiday celebration. Things happen and both are able to open up to the other. Things happen with his parents, his dad finally comes clean. Holly's siblings are in this and it's nice to see where they are in their relationships. I thought this had a good HFN ending and I could see a transition to a HEA after more time.
