Enjoyment of this book is enhanced if one is a Mainline liturgical Protestant, with a background in choral music and/or church organ performance.

Since I am a mainline, liturgical Protestant who sings alto in the church choir and is a part-time church organist who happens to love murder mysteries....I started laughing on page one, and didn't stop till the last page.

You needn't be any of the above to enjoy the book, but there are many "inside jokes" strewn throughout. Hayden Konig is a likeable hero, and this, the first in the series is a delightful book!

Here we have an author doing a take on the hardboiled genre but with a cute funny edge to it as well as involving a church and its choir. Good for laughs and a delight to read. Funny series.

"It's like Mitford meets Jurassic Park, only without the wisteria and the dinosaurs".

Over-the-top style of humor that all might not care for. Ridiculous/impossible situations but it hangs together once you get into it.

We LOVED this book! Could not stop laughing, and can't wait to read the rest in the series.
