This book leaves a lot of unanswered questions about the people involved. I was very disappointed when I finished reading the two book series. ( 1st books is Scoundrel for Hire). I even e-mailed the author to find out if another book was coming out soon. She informed me that there would be no more books in the series. If you like to be left hanging then read this series if not don't bother
In 1878 Pine Mountain, Tennessee, Dr. Michael Jones rescuesEden Mallory from a precarious predicament before disappearing. Edenmoves to Kentucky and over the next few years, Eden paints a mentalpicture of her hero that attains epic proportions by 1886.
WhenEden and Michael meet for the first time in eight years, she ispositive that they met before, but cannot recall when and where.Michael too believes he has encountered Eden, who reminds him of thesexy young woman who haunts his every thought, ever since he assistedher in Tennessee. When they are caught in a compromising position,Michael and Eden marry. Although she insists she loves him, Michaelstruggles with demons from his past and his belief that he can notattain the mark of her hero even if it is he.
ALWAYS HER HEROis an entertaining rural Americana romance. The well written storyline provides much pleasure to the audience due to the strongdescription of the locale and the deep secondary cast providing avivid picture of late nineteenth century life in Kentucky. AlthoughEden too easily allows the real Michael to replace her made-upMichael, Adrienne de Wolfe paints a heart-wrenching romance.
