The students that this book was read to enjoyed it so much. It held their attention and got some questions as the book did a play on words. Amelia Bedelia interpreted such things as "by" as "buy"; "here is your book Mark" as "here is your bookmark"; thought a thesaurus was a dinosaur; and made "jackets" for the books she returned. This story will have children laughing as the mishaps that happen to Amelia Bedelia.
While my personal reading tastes are a bit more sophisticated, the second graders who read this book give it five stars.
My daughter loves this book.
