Not for the easily offended (though I think they wouldn't be interested in this book anyway!) If you're a fan of The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, chances are you will appreciate this book. It's 100% in character, and was so funny I couldn't put it down. This is seperated into many different sections: The Family, Old People, Animals, Religion, Sports, Sex & Dating, Homosexuals, Higher Education, Hollywood, The Media, Class War, Race, Immigrants and Science. It also contains "Fun Zone" activities (ha!) a section called "A Note To the Future" (with instructions on defrosting Colbert's head), and countless funny margin jokes and much more. The end of the book also contains a transcript of Colbert's memorable address at the 2006 White House Correspondant's Dinner, making this a must have for Colbert fans. If you like your politics served with plenty of satire- or vice versa- this is worth the money! I know I'll be re-reading this through the years, and I'm very glad I splurged and picked this up.

I picked this up not expecting to get much from it. He is after all just a television personality! However, I must say he has completely changed my life. I had no idea just how wrong I was about many things in my life!

I would like to thank him personally for doing so much for me and all of my friends. Whom I tell about him. All the time.

As a bonus while reading this book I lost fifteen lbs! No kidding. Amazing book.

Read it now! You'll love it. Just like me.

If you are an ultra conservative, you will hate this book. But, one of the funniest books I have ever read. I really enjoyed it!

I don't watch much tv, so I wasn't too familiar with The Colbert Report before reading this book. After reading this book I realize how little I truly know! Thanks to Mr. Colbert, I now have a better understanding of the world.
Honestly, I think Stephen Colbert is a comic genius and highly intelligent to boot. I am now a fan. Although, I have both the hardcover and the audio book and I have to say, the humor translates a lot better in the audio version. I highly recommend hearing the author's words in his own words.

This is a quick read but a great book. Stephen is so funny he actually made me laugh out loud at some parts. Not for the easily offended but if you're a fan of Stephen Colbert, it's definitely worth reading.

Super funny if you already watch The Colbert Report, if not, it is still funny, but there are little innuendos that may be missed.

I am an avid fan of Stephen Colbert, but I have to say I have the problem with this book.

The actual content was great. It is the same kind of stuff humor and attitude he gives in his show, with diagrams, and really funny liner notes. The problem is that when I read it, I didn't have Colbert's voice in my head delivering the lines like he does on his show, I had my voice in my head reading how I read. I had to really concentrate to hear it the way he would say it, etc, which took some of the fun from it. I don't often read comedy books, so that might be another problem of mine.

If you can imagine him reading the book to you it's great, and even if you can't it's still entertaining. If you're a fan it's definitely worth a read.

Ho hum. Colbert is better as a performer than a writer.

I really enjoy satire and sarcasm, as life is too short to be taken seriously. Plus, we are all way too politically correct today. I bet if I told a Tom Swift joke (remember those?) the media would vilify me.

Having said that.... as far as the book goes, I guess "you had to be there" for it to be funny. Thank God I don't have cable, so I can't watch Colbert on TV.
