Forty-Two stories of Americana History, the story behind the story, things never published in the history books, but which really make America "America".

A little aged (1976), but a very good read. You'll be tempted to read the whole book in one sitting. However, pace yourself to one a day - you'll find yourself re-reading some of the stories over and over again.

For a trivia nut or history buff - this is a find, for the rest of us its fun to read!

Interesting. Good book for reading when you have spare moments or are waiting. Some of the vignettes: a rebellion over hair-length in 1801; one of the Bonaparte Kings took up residence in New Jersey; phrenology and 8 sided houses; a famous New York bridge jumper; the unexpected Salton Sea.

Collection of short interesting stories of 2-7 pages each. Each one designed to make you comment 'I did not know that, how interesting.' Does not cover major historical events, but sticks to minor historical events that would not be covered in a history class. The small story size makes for ease of reading when you have just a few minutes to wait on something else.
