This is a very helpful and practical book for anyone interested in creating a beautiful weekend garden in a suburban or country setting. Note the term 'weekend' - the book has a refreshing focus on creating gardens that can be maintained on weekends, so it's great for busy people who yearn to get their hands dirty on Saturday and Sunday. Includes chapters on the elements of landscape design, choosing the right plants for your climate and yard, propagation, pests, and - most importantly! - upkeep. Also includes some practical plant lists and good pictures of different gardens and common flowers.
