I love this book because it tells about scary stories from the past.

This is a reprint of Ten Creepiest Places in America. It seems to be the product of library research, not from visiting the sites. Mysterious lights are seen, Area %1 included. Non-mystical explanations are also suggested such as electro-magnetism in New Mexico (Chingo).
Many happenings are described including mysterious happenings at an inn named for General Mad Anthony Wayne. There is a brief introduction and a list of websites. No footnotes, bibliography, or index.
