A homeless, broken family is stranded in Amish country. They learn from the Amish what is most important in life, God, your family and loving others and accepting them as you would be treated. I come from Amish country and this is how the Amish really live. I truly admire the Amish: they are real people of God. This is a great book.

An Amish Christmas is a very sweet story. It is well written. This is not an intense book; but is worth a read. A good story for younger readers, also.

I have read a lot of the books about the Amish by different authors. I was pleased to find this author with a different slant on things. This was one of the best I have read and have added her other books to my wish list.
As another reviewer mentioned, this reads like a made-for-tv film -- a bad, made-for-tv film. Simplistic, moralistic and predictable. I made it 1/3 of the way in before I threw it down in disgust. Yes, I am sure it has a heart-warming ending but I could not make it to the end to find out.
The story of a family's transformation from materialistic values into valuing family and hard work. Reads like a made-for-tv movie to be aired on the Lifetime network.
This was a very touching book. The situation in which the characters find themselves could happen to anyone in the time in which we now live. The teenagers are as nasty as most spoiled kids are. The characters slowly evolve from a dysfunctional family into a caring, considerate one. Its a quick read and a good read.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I could hardly put it down until I was at the end. It kept my attention the entire time!!!! I was not familiar with the Amish people nor their ways and this book was very enlightening.
This is a heartwarming novel that teaches us a good moral lesson of what's truly important in life....faith and family. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend to anyone that wants to read something wholesome.
